Downloading Obscura

Obscura app is currently available on iOS and macOS. Other platforms are supported through the WireGuard app. Native apps for more platforms are in the works. Keep an eye on our blog for announcements.

iOS

Obscura for iOS is available through the App Store. It requires iOS 17.0+.

1. Search for Obscura VPN in the App Store or open it directly

2. Tap Get to install

3. Open the app, create an account or log in

macOS

Obscura for macOS is available directly from our website. It requires macOS 13.0+ Ventura or higher.

1. Visit our download page and click the orange Download for macOS button

2. Open the downloaded .dmg file

3. Drag Obscura into your Applications folder

4. Open the app, create an account or log in

Note

Obscura isn’t available via Homebrew. Homebrew package updates require a full uninstall and reinstall of the app in the background, which can deactivate the system extension Obscura uses for its VPN tunnel. This may require you to re-approve it in Settings. Please download Obscura for macOS directly from our website.

Android

Obscura is currently in development for Android. Join our waitlist to be notified when an Android app is available.

In the meantime, you can connect to Obscura on Android by following our WireGuard guide.

WireGuard (Any Platform)

If you’re on a platform where we don’t have a native app yet, or you just prefer WireGuard, you can generate a WireGuard config from your Obscura account and use it with any standard WireGuard client.

This works on Linux, Windows, Android, routers, and any other platform that supports WireGuard.

Note

Each WireGuard config permanently reserves one of your 3 connection slots, even when the device isn’t connected. To free a slot, delete the config from your account. See Managing Your Devices for more details.
